Getting Started:

In order to be best prepared to begin your case, there are some important items and pieces of information you should have ready so I can best help you as quickly and effectively as possible. I have listed a few of the most critical items so that our meeting will result in you being better informed of what it is you are up against:

IF YOU’VE JUST BEEN ARRESTED AND ARE OUT OF CUSTODY

  • Your Ticket;
  • Your Booking Slip;
  • Your DMV Documents (if a DUI case);
  • Your Appearance Date or Court Date (if you are charged with a misdemeanor other than Domestic Violence, I can appear for you in court and you do not have to go);
  • Copy of summons or subpoena (if applicable);
  • Phone numbers of parties and witnesses (if available), including alternate numbers for day and night contacts;

IF YOUR CASE IS ONGOING AND YOU ARE THINKING OF SWITCHING LAWYERS, IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE iNFORMATION:

  • Your case number and court location;
  • The name of the judge handling your case;
  • Your police reports;
  • The name of the prosecuting agency and prosecutor assigned to the case;
  • Any pending offers.

IF YOU’VE JUST BEEN ARRESTED AND ARE IN CUSTODY

  • In this situation, I will come to the jail facility to meet with you, and we’ll discuss your case as you know it, the steps you need to take to secure bail (if that is an option), and what you can expect to occur at your first court appearance, which must take place within 48 hours of your arrest if you are not released; I’ll also coordinate efforts with your spouse, family or trusted friend. Remember – This initial consultation is free, and all information that you convey to me is absolutely confidential, whether or not you decide to hire me. I am happy to meet with you to help you make this most critical decision. Great lawyers get great results; bad lawyers can make your situation worse.
